  2. INFORMATION ABOUT UGANDA.......

Background-Uganda the land of contrasts. In seven hours you can drive from mist-shrouded volcanic mountains to hot hazy savannah dappled with wildlife with ten national parks in different parts of the country and with undulating hills and valleys of bananas, coffee and tea plantations, papyrus swamps and water bodies of Lake Victoria, Lake Kyoga, Lake Albert, Lake, George and The Source of River Nile for White water rafting(Grande five ) this gives way to tangled jungle and rainforest with the musical accompaniment of chaoticcacophonous birdlife.

Bio diversity is simply defined as a wide variety of species of flora and fauna and ecosystems within a given habitat. Uganda has the highest density of primate species(gorillas, chimpanzees, olive baboons, to mention but a few) compared to any other country on earth. Kibale Forest National Park and Bwindi have 16% of the polypore fungi recorded from North America and Europe.

Uganda is home to half of the World’s population of Mountain gorillas housed in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the remaining Half is shared between Uganda (Mgahinga National park)Rwanda and DRC.

Uganda has become number one Adventure destinations for birding with tiniest sun birds in the morning light the massive lumbering yet silent elephant disappearing like a vapor behind the trees, the chimpanzees crashing about the forest canopy, the lugubrious gorilla chewing thoughtfully in the bamboo thicket. There ’is the Niletwisting its way north like a shimmering ribbon through arid semi-desert scattered about with rocky kopjes. The Rwenzori mountains with Snow capped peaks, tropical sandy freshwater, beached sand smiling faces everywhere. It’s all here "That is Uganda and the real Adventure"

Sustainable Tourism has great potential for driving economic growth in Uganda. Tourism is a mechanism for job creation and image improvement and when combined together with elements of sustainability it can help conserve natural resources including Wildlife green space and national parks as well as markedly increase quality of life of Ugandans and more the participating communities and protect and sustain local cultures and heritage.
