15 Days Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar Deluxe Safari Itinerary


DAY 1 : NAIROBI - SAMBURU

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA( Nairobi ), go through the passport control then down to the luggage collection unit, collect your luggage and walk out to the arrival section and you will be met by your driver / guide and our representative holding a folder written ‘AJABU AFRICAN SAFARIS’ and your names. Then you will be taken to Jacaranda Hotel for a full Safari Briefing. After the briefing you will take a road trip about 6 hours drive to Samburu National Reserve.

You will be accommodated at the beautiful Sarova Shaba Game Lodge situated at the Shaba National Reserve. Shaba takes its name from Mount Shaba ( 1525 meters ), a volcanic mountain that became extinct around 5ooo years ago, and lies on the border of the reserve. This lodge is built in an oasis around the natural terrain of this breathtaking volcanic desert. The lodge is attractively laid out  with chalet style rooms overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River. Sarova Shaba Game Lodge offers a unique experience that extends beyond game drives in the reserve. The animals that can be found in this area are lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, dik-dik, marabou stork, gazelle, gerenuk, secretary bird, crocodile. When you arrive at the lodge you will be welcomed by ever smiling staff and offered refreshments to quench your thirst.

DAY 2 : SAMBURU


This second day in Shaba National Reserve will be full of activities for you. After breakfast you will head out on a morning game drive and see the abundance of wild animals found in this reserve.
Then you will go and visit a nearby Samburu village and learn about the Samburu people and their culture. The beautifully beaded and decorated Samburu Morans will perform cultural songs and dances. After the village trip you will go back to your lodge and relax by the veranda overlooking the reserve or by the bar and drink a Tusker beer. In the afternoon you will have lunch then you can siesta in your room. Around 4.00 pm you will commence on a Camel Safari and view the Shaba landscape. After the Camel ride you will head back to the lodge and you will freshen up and get ready for dinner.

DAY 3 : LAKE NAKURU


After an early breakfast you will head out to Lake Nakuru National Park a heaven for the flamingos. This drive will be between 6-7 hours. You will be accommodated at Lake Nakuru Lodge which is situated in the south eastern ecological niche of the park. It is an oasis of excellent and comfort service. This lodge blends in well with its surroundings and the wild animals normally come very close to the lodge, much to the fascination of the guests.
The rooms are beautiful designed and they offer peace of mind and relaxation. The cuisine is excellent which includes outside catering, bush dinners, sundowners. There is a swimming pool whereby one can relax after a long day of game drive. This lodge provides exceptional quality and service unmatched anywhere in Kenya and that makes it a finest lodge in this National Park.
The animals to be found in this area are black rhino, white rhino, cheetah, leopard, waterbuck, python, giraffe, african fish eagle, king fisher.When you get to the lodge you will be welcomed by the staff. The beauty of this lodge is that the view is spectacular and the service is top class.

DAY 4 : MASAI MARA


After breakfast you will do a morning game drive as you proceed heading towards the famous National Park, the Masai Mara. This drive will be between 6-7 hours.You will be accommodated at the beautiful Kicheche Camp situated at the Olare Orok Conservancy in Maasai Mara. This area is unfenced hence offering incomparable game viewing. Kicheche Camp is a small yet intimate luxurious tented Camp.
The custom designed tents are spacious, with king size beds, flushing toilet, luggage racks, a safari bucket shower with a view,  private veranda overlooking the plains. The chefs do a great job and they offer African and International cuisines and cater for dietary requirements. The animals that can be found in this area are the Big 5 ( lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, rhino ) , wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, impala, giraffe. When you arrive at the lodge you will be welcomed by ever smiling staff and offered refreshments to quench your thirst.

DAY 5 : MASAI MARA


This day you will start by flying high in a hot air balloon over the Maasai Mara plains and you will view animals from above if the weather  is OK. After the balloon ride you will be treated to a champagne breakfast over looking the Mara Plains.
Then you will go and visit a near by Maasai village and learn about the Masai people and there culture. After the village trip you will go back to your camp and relax by the veranda overlooking the plains or by the bar and drink a Tusker beer. In the afternoon you will have lunch then you can siesta in your room. Around 4.00 pm you will commence on an afternoon game drive, with the instincts and experience of the guide you will be able to see a lot of animals. The Safari vehicle is designed specifically for photographers, with open roofs where you can rest your camera. Bean bags are also supplied for your camera support. After the afternoon drive you will head up to the camp and you will freshen up and get ready for dinner.

DAY 6 : SERENGETI


After breakfast you will do a morning game drive heading towards the Isebania Kenya / Tanzania border. This drive will be about 5 hours. When you get to the border you will exchange vehicles and Guides.
You will head to the Western Part of Serengeti National Park and this is whereby you need to make sure that your cameras are fully charged so that you don’t miss the action of the wildlife here at the famous Serengeti. On the way here you will see animals like lion, wildebeest, elephant, gazelle, warthog, giraffe, secretary bird, zebra. You will be amazed on how beautiful this Serengeti is.
You will arrive at Serengeti National Park and you will stay at Mbalageti Tented Camp which is located in a remote  part of Serengeti. This Camp offer 360 degrees panorama view of the Serengeti Plains. The word Mbalageti refers to the seasonal river found in the Serengeti region.
Mbalageti Tented Camp is a place of nature and beauty with the tents equipped with en suite bathrooms, lounge veranda. These tents are perfect for any Safari Traveler. When you get to the camp you will be welcomed by the staff.

DAY 7 : SERENGETI


Wake up and see the sunrise in this beautiful morning and after breakfast you will depart Mbalageti Tented Camp heading towards  the South – Western part of Serengeti National Park where you will be accommodated at Serengeti Sopa Lodge set in the Nyaboro Hills. This lodge is nestled in acacia woodland on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Serengeti Plains.
The rooms are equipped with king size beds, mini bar, hairdryers, en suite bathrooms, veranda with comfortable chairs. The lobby area is furnished with large chairs made out of driftwood, huge cushions and colourful throw pillows. The beautiful metallic wall lamps with soft lighting makes this lodge to have a warm and intimate effect.
When you arrive at the lodge you will be welcomed and offered refreshments to quench your thirst.

DAY 8 : NGORONGORO CRATER


After breakfast you will drive and head to the world heritage site which is the Ngorongoro Crater and on the way you will see plenty of animals like baboon, zebra, wildebeest, leopard, impala, lion, rhino. One can’t come to Tanzania on a Safari and not see the Ngorongoro Crater it will be like going to France and not see Paris…. This is the place where the Big 5 are spotted.
You will be accommodated at the beautiful and relaxing  Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge situated on the Eastern rim of the Crater. The location of this lodge promises a safari enjoyment of a lifetime. When you arrive at the lodge you will be welcomed with open arms and really feel at home.
The rooms are very spacious with king size beds, en suite bathrooms and veranda. The restaurant is in the shape of a rondvale, it has a high roof and large glass windows to view the Crater.

DAY 9 : LAKE MANYARA


After breakfast you will be on your way to the amazing one of the kinds Lake Manyara which is at the foot of the Great rift valley escarpment. The road trip will enable you to see abundance of animals like lions, baboons, zebra, elephants, gazelle, lizards, warthog, flamingos. You will be accommodated at the amazing and one of the kind Gibbs Farm which is very romantic ,exclusive and set around gardens.
This lodge is very special in the sense that its location will blow your mind away and its designed in amazing way.
You will arrive at the lodge and you will be welcomed with open arms and offered refreshments.  You will be shown to your rooms and relax and await evening time when you will have your dinner. After dinner you will go out on a Night game drive to see the nocturnal animals like bat eared-fox, white tail mongoose, owl, badger, hedgehog, bush baby, porcupine.

DAY 10 : TARANGIRE

After breakfast you will drive towards the 3rd largest National Park in Tanzania and on the way you will be amazed by the scenery and abundance of wild animals that you will see. You will enjoy your drive and take plenty of photos and in the afternoon you will stop at a perfect location to have your lunch in the middle of the bush with background sounds of birds, elephants. You will be accommodated at Maramboi Camp which is located in a Maasai Concession Area.
The spacious tents are built on raised wooden decks, each having en suite bathroom, veranda, electricity. The camp offers stunning views of Rift Valley, Manyara and Ngorongoro.
You will be welcomed with open arms and offered refreshments and the Camp Manager will brief you about the Camp facilities. You will freshen up and get ready for dinner and enjoy in been in the 6th largest national park in Africa and that’s the Tarangire Park.

DAY 11 : TARANGIRE

Another beautiful day here in Tarangire National Park and after breakfast you will commence on a morning game drive and this is whereby you need to ensure that your camera batteries are full charged if you want to get those amazing elephant photos. Tarangire is famous for elephants, birds, pythons, warthog, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, baboons, waterbuck and other common animals.
After the game drive you will head back to the Camp and enjoy your lunch with that glass of wine and then siesta in your room. Around 4 pm you will stretch your legs and do a walking safari with an experienced guide who will teach you about the flora and fauna of the Tarangire National Park and the people that live in that area the Datoga and Maasai tribes.
Around 7 pm you will get ready to have dinner under the stars and enjoying the cuisines of Maramboi Tented Camp.

DAY 12 : ARUSHA

After breakfast you will depart Tarangire National Park heading to the famous town of Arusha which is known for its Coffee plantation, Arusha National Park, views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. On the way you will see animals, villages and different people.
You will be accommodated at the magnificent one of the best Lake Duluti Lodge boasting idyllic scenery, mild climate, stunning architecture and design. Lake Duluti lodge offers both a retreat in one of Tanzania’s most famous landscapes and a cultural education in a region that is home to a strong cultural heritage. Lake Duluti lodge is located amongst coffee plantations and one can do a coffee tour. The chalets are designed in a perfect way with luxurious facilities. This lodge has a homely feel and the staff make ones stay here a memorable one. You will be welcomed like royals and offered refreshments to quench your thirst.
Around 3pm  you will visit the Maasai Market which is a place where you can buy handicrafts made from ebony, redwood and various paintings all made by Tanzanians. After the Maasai Market you will head back to the lodge and around 6pm you will have a sundowner whereby you will relax and enjoy the sunset having some drinks and snacks. After the sundowner you will freshen up and get ready for dinner.

DAY 13 : ZANZIBAR

After breakfast you will depart Lake Duluti Lodge heading towards Arusha Airport to catch your 2 hours flight to Zanzibar. Zanzibar is known for its culture, spicy food, historical places and white sandy beach. You will be accommodated at the beautiful Paradise Beach Resort, like its name this is a true paradise for you.
This resort is located on the east coast of Zanzibar and just 35km form Stone Town. The beach front is only 700m away and you can relax and enjoy the breeze. The resort has been designed infavour of both African and European styles.
From the suites, swimming pool, spa, restaurants, bar, one can surely relax and enjoy this unforgettable place. You can unwind by doing a full body massage or by sun bathing. In the afternoon you will have lunch then go on a tour of Stone Town with a guide and learn about this historical place.
After the Stone Town tour you will head back to the resort and relax by the beach. In the evening you will have dinner and relax by the bar hearing the sounds of the ocean.

DAY 14 : ZANZIBAR

You will wake up on this day full of energy and ready to experience the Zanzibar Island. After breakfast you will head out on a boat to the Prison Island which is one of the historical places found here in Zanzibar. This prison Island is now a hotel and many visitors stay there. You will be amazed by the beauty of this place and you will see the largest tortoise on earth at the Prison Island.
You can also do snorkeling if you are a fun of snorkeling and see different kinds of fishes that are found in the ocean. After the tour you will have a picnic lunch then head back on a boat to the resort.
In the afternoon you can relax and enjoy the views of the ocean. Come evening time you can have your spicy food and that famous cocktail.

DAY 15 : DEPARTURE

This is your last day here in Zanzibar and you can have breakfast and relax at the resort waiting time to be taken to the Zanzibar Airport to catch your flight to Jomo Kenyatta Airport (Nairobi). In the afternoon you will drive to the Zanzibar Airport to catch your flight to Nairobi with Precision Air/Kenya Airways. You will arrive in Nairobi (JKIA Airport) and you will be accommodated at Jacaranda Hotel
When you arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport you will be met by a representative from Jacaranda Hotel and they will take you to the Hotel.
Around evening time you will be transported to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your flight home. BON VOYAGE.Have a safe Journey!!
